(AP) - Oil workers are seen at Zubair oil field near Basra, 550 kilometers (340 miles) southeast of Baghdad, Iraq, Sunday, May 15, 2011. State-run Iraqi Drilling Company started Sunday drilling new wells in Iraq’s 4.1 billion barrels Zubair oil field near Basra. IDC was awarded a nearly $250,000-deal last year to drill 23 new wells and to workover 63 other wells due to be completed in the coming two years. It has deployed four drilling rigs and four workover rigs. The field was among nearly a dozen oil fields Iraq awarded in 2009 during two International energy bidding rounds. It is being developed by Italy’s Eni and partners Los Angeles-based Occidental Petroleum Corp. and South Korea’s KOGAS. (AP Photo/Nabil al-Jourani)
